Our Story

jamane photo_edited.jpg

Jamane has been working in the community service industry since 2010. His roles throughout the years have included youth worker, disability support worker, key support worker and team leader.

His firsthand experience, with working directly with participants as a support worker, made him realise the key role a support worker plays in helping a participant to fulfil their goals and aspirations. Too many times he has seen support workers matched with participants that did not work out, which in turn has hindered the progress of the participant.

Eley Care Director - Jamane Eley

This lead to the start of Eley Care, which has a focus on making sure the participant is connected with the right worker. He believes this starts with listening and knowing the participants needs. Eley Care also places a high emphases on knowing its support workers. Their background, strengths, weaknesses, qualifications and experience. Its by truly understanding both the participants and the support workers, that a true connection can be made. He likens it to a builder who tries to hammer in a nail with a screw driver. "He may have the best screw driver in the world but if he doesn't use the right tool, it will always make the job difficult or impossible to accomplish". Eley Cares job is to make sure the right tool (support worker) is used so the participant can get the results they want to accomplish.

Eley Care strives to make a lasting connection between its support workers and participants and by doing this we achieve our vision which states "Those with a disability will be leading the life they want, being empowered, having choices and contributing to there community."
